Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS)
The new AEBS is included in the Traffic Eye Brake system (TEB). It’s designed to reduce the risk of rear end collisions. It uses high-precision radar to monitor the distance and speed of vehicles in front. If there is a risk of collision the system will alert the driver, both with warning lights and sounds. If the driver does not react, the system will slow down the truck, and if necessary activate the emergency braking system to further reduce the speed and minimise, or even avoid, the impact.
Electronic Brake System (EBS)
The advanced Electronic Brake System includes a range of features to optimise braking performance and extend tire life. It includes the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) that prevents the wheels from locking, even under heavy braking on slippery roads. This allows the driver to brake and steer at the same time to avoid an accident. In addition, the Anti- Slip Regulation system (ASR) distributes drive force to the wheel with the best grip, reducing the risk of spinning on a slippery surface.
Integrated passive safety systems
In the event of a collision, the new Quon features an extremely robust cab structure (SAFES CABIN) and a range of integrated safety systems to minimise the risk of injury. Side-impact protection, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, SRS Airbags including the pioneering UD knee protection airbag and impact-absorbing steering wheel and steering column are just a few examples of reliable systems designed to keep your drivers safe behind the wheel. In addition, in the event of a collision with a passenger car, a frontal underrun protection system (FUPS) helps improve the protection for the cars’ driver and passengers.
Lane Departure Warning (LDWS)
The camera-based Lane Departure Warning System is designed to increase driving safety by warning if you unintentionally deviate from the traffic lane. The camera monitors the road ahead and at speeds above 60 km/h it detects and warns if you unintentionally cross lane markings.
With an extra eye on safety
Safety is key for efficient operation. First and foremost it’s about preventing accidents and minimising the risk of injuries. But in addition, it’s also about securing uptime and reducing unnecessary hours at the workshop. That is why the new Quon features a range of electronic systems to enhance driving safety, such as the new collision mitigation system by Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) that is suitable for the updated safety standard included in the Traffic Eye Brake system, as well as a host of features for impressive crash safety.
