Gemba story: technical support
The UD Gemba Spirit guides my working methods. When a problem comes, I prefer face-to-face communication rather than phone calls or emails, so I can catch all the nuances of the issue at hand.
What does UD’s Gemba Spirit mean to you?To me, the UD Gemba Spirit guides my working methods. When a problem comes, I prefer face-to-face communication rather than phone calls or emails, so I can catch all the nuances of the issue at hand. It also shapes the way we work at UD; we keep in close communication with our colleagues, and combine our knowledge and experience to solve an issue most effectively. I like this UD culture of sharing knowledge and experience.
Going the Extra Mile is the motto of UD, how does it reflect in your gemba?
When I took over my current position, I found it necessary to get a driving license for heavy-duty trucks so I could experience a truck’s issue by myself. Getting first-hand information improves my service to my customers.
