MOAI RESTORATION PROJECT

The TADANO Group strives to contribute to society through social contributions which only TADANO is capable of, led by the Group's corporate philosophy of "Creation, Contribution, and Cooperation". We are proud to present our Moai Restoration Project, an example of our international CSR activities.

Easter Island seems only a solitary islet in the South Pacific, and yet is so much world-famous for its gigantic stone statues as to be described as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
By whom were built such numerous pieces of monument in which ages and for what purpose?
The Moai statues remain a mystery even to this date.
Though all is hidden behind a veil of wonder, there are evidences that some were knocked down and damaged through tribal rivalries in the older times of its history, and others fell over in natural calamities.
In order to protect this historical heritage, we decided to have the Moai Restoration Project started, as part of our "mecenat"-campaign to support cultural activities like this across the world.
