MOAI RESTORATION PROJECT

Preparations for delivery In a steady progress

A 60-tonne capacity TR-600XL rough Terrain cranes was finally singled out for donation. We took necessary measures to make the machine maintenance easier in addition to improving anticorrosive coating of the crane.

The crane arrived at the port of Valparaiso in January, 2006, after its voyage across the Pacific for fully two months.

The Tadano staff team waiting impatiently for the arrival of the crane at Valparaiso started bustling about checking and adjusting the crane condition.

With the cooperation of the 5th State Government of Chile and the Chilean Navy, it was decided that the crane be carried by an LST from the port to Easter Island as was the case with the previous one (in 1993).

In Valparaiso the Tadano team paid a visit to the 5th State Governor and Commander in chief of the General Staff Office of the Chilean Navy to have prior talks on the delivery of the crane, the scene of which was released on the Website of the Chilean Navy.
