Epilogue

With two years of working at Easter Island after five years of planning, this project was drawing to a close. Our dream to re-erect the Moai statues came true. In addition to this, the Japanese government expressed their intention to cooperate with the Chilean government in reconstructing the remaining Moai statues by way of the UNESCO. It would move us very much, if our project would result in contributing to the restoration of Moais in the future. We hope that the people of Easter Island, using the skills we taught, will continue to rebuild the Moais by themselves in the years to come. In the end, we would like to express our grateful thanks to everyone that supported this project and helped us in its realization.
