We are now pleased to tell you the Tadano Group will celebrate its 60th anniversary of the foundation this coming August.
The sixty years corresponds to a human's sixtieth birthday called "Kanreki" in Japanese. In addition, this is the year the first of the 12 zodiac signs or animals (called Eto in Japanese) representing each year in a cycle which was introduced into Japan from China will re-start, thus indicating important points in our lives.
Over the past 60 years since our founding in 1948, the Tadano Group has overcome numerous challenges and pulled through adverse circumstances. What the Tadano Group is today, we owe it to our predecessors and each of our employees who have presevered in their efforts to develop business activities while respecting the spirit of "Creation, Dedication, and Cooperation" which has been our corporate philosophy since the foundation. We also owe it to our customers, business connections, shareholders and stakeholders in addition to community people for their continued support and encouragement.
As to the current Mid-Term Management Plan which we have proceeded with over the four years since April of 2004, we are pleased to mention it is making good progress, as planned, in terms of numerical targets, while there remain only a couple of months before the closing of it. And, as for the next Mid-Term Management Plan we will start from April of this year, we are now preparing to decide on our business scheme with "Getting over the market about-turn and Launching the Tadano Group onto a new trajectory of growth" as its main theme, since there remains a high probability of the market situation turning about in an adverse direction in the next three years.
Just for your reference, the 120 years that is composed of the first "Kanreki" and of the following 60 years is said to be "Dai Kanreki" in Buddhism, or the Greater Kanreki. In this sense, the Tadano Group is on the point of celebrating its 60th anniversary this summer. On the other hand, this is the very year we will launch out into the sea of life for the destination of the Greater Kanreki.
The world 60 years hence we will celebrate the Greater Kanreki, we don't know at all what it will be coming to. Life would be unpredictable even 10 years from now. However, one thing that is clear is "the future is not ours to foresee, but to create." It is, therefore, hoped that the Tadano Group will be a growing concern endowned with high-principled business ethics and a sense of mission when celebrating the Greater Kanreki.
We are grateful for your continued patronage and support.
Koichi Tadano
