Completion of Painting and Cylinder Buildings at Shido Plant

As one of our initiatives for reorganizing domestic plants, we just completed the construction of factory buildings for painting (new) and for cylinder production (extended) within the premises of our Shido Plant.

1.Outlines of Painting factory building (new)

3	Structure	A single-storied house of steel frame (including a two-storied office block)
4	Painting capacity	Improved by abt. 20% over the current ability

2. Features of Painting factory building (new)

1	Improvement in painting capacity to correspond with our product manufacturing capacity; an abt. 20% increase of painting capacity expected by means of adding the new painting factory building (10 booths) to the existing facilities.
2	A batch painting system is employed to better meet the changes in product models.
3	A 16.5m high ceiling is used to enable painting work for large-sized cranes.

3. Outlines of Cylinder factory building (extended)

1	Location	Same as 1. -1 above
2	Total floor space	1,336.46m²
3	Structure	A single-storied house of steel frame
4	Production capacity	Improved by abt. 20% over the current ability.
5	Production items	Cylinders
6	Operation start	Scheduled for May of 2008 for full-scale production after introduction of new facilities and changes made in process lines.

4. Features of Cylinder factory building (extended)

1	Improvement in Cylinder producing capacity to correspond with our product manufacturing capacity; an abt. 20% increase of cylinder producing capacity expected by means of the said extension.
2	Improvement of production efficiencies by means of the latest new facilities and equipment. We aim to improve production efficiencies for cylinders and their quality by means of introducing electron beam welders, varnishing work machines and so on.

-Restructuring of domestic production system-
Based on a continuing strong recovery and expansion in demand in both domestic and overseas markets as well as in responce to further development in business environments in the future, Tadano invested and will continue to invest a total of approximately ¥11.5 billion over the three years from 2005 through 2008 in the refurbishment of an improved production system to boost outpot. Its goals are to raise the production of the mainstay construction cranes by over 50% in the targeted year 2008 compared with the year 2004. In addition, Tadano arranged that construction cranes is manufactured at the Shido plant, aerial work platforms at the Takamatsu plant and truck loader cranes at the newly-built Tadotsu plant to efficiently establish its intensified production system per product segment.
