Here again, a biennial festival came around. In Shanghai, bauma China, Asia's largest construction equipment exhibition took place over the four days from 21 to 24 November, 2006. Despite unfavorable weather conditions the bauma China welcomed some 80,000 visitors of which levels are 60% higher than the last time with 1,035 exhibitors versus 700 in 2004 on the back of booming economic growth and unabated demand for construction machinery in China.
Many rushed to see our stand where we counted adding up to some 1,500 visitors even on its opening day alone, thereby assuring us of our further sales expansion in the country. There we displayed the ATF220G-5 a first debut on the international marketplace other than Europe, and the GR-700EXL.
As being just released in Europe this September, the new ATF220G-5 all terrain cranes offers a maximum lifting capacity of 220 tonnes with a 7-section boom of 68m equipped with the Lift Adjustor system to enhance safety in crane operation as with the precedent ATF160G-5 model. The GR-700EXL rough terrain cranes has a maximum lifting capacity of 70 tonnes with a 5-section boom of 44m. Both models were well received by the visitors to our stand especially because of their "ease of operation". On the other hand, BQ-TADANO, a joint-venture manufacturer of Tadano in China showed the GT-250E, GT-350E and GT-550E truck cranes respectively with 25-tonne, 35-tonne and 50-tonne lifting capacities which also gained popularity.
